Jacob Lambeck

Master of Public Administration (MPA)

Jacob Lambeck is a recent graduate of Winthrop University, where he ranked at the top of his class, receiving multiple scholarships, awards, and honors. He finished his undergraduate studies with a B.A. summa cum laude in Political Science. During his time at Winthrop University, Jacob spent a semester studying abroad at Deakin University in Melbourne, Australia. Jacob recently finished an internship with the City of Rock Hill’s Office of Management and Budget. There he worked in conjunction with both the strategic planner, the city manager, and the intergovernmental manager on multiple projects that are expected to have long-term, positive impacts upon the city. Jacob is currently pursuing his Master of Public Administration and works as a Graduate Teaching Assistant in UGA’s Political Science department.

Jacob Lambeck is an active member of the Phi Kappa Phi and Pi Sigma Alpha Honor societies. He has earned numerous competitive undergraduate scholarships including the Global Ambassador Scholarship, the Joe B. Lanford Scholarship, and the Juree Capers Scholarship. Jacob was also the recipient of the Winthrop University Political Science department’s graduate school scholarship.

Research Interests

Jacob’s research interests include examining the impact of tobacco plain packaging legislation and the lobbying practices of big tobacco, highlighting the positive effects of urban greenspace upon citizens, and identifying major factors fueling the production and consumption of illegal opiates abroad, which play a part in the growing opiate crisis facing the United States today.
