Applied Politics

Hope Garrison, originally from Atlanta, GA, is a second year student at the University of Georgia majoring in Political Science with a minor in Spanish. Outside of school, Hope is an active member of the Gamma Delta chapter of Kappa Alpha Theta, through which she volunteers for CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates). In 2016, Hope helped start the non profit LeanOnMe, a patient advocacy and empowerment organization, and now serves as their volunteer coordinator. Hope has had a lifelong interest in the world of electoral politics and issue advocacy, specifically within in the realm of education and health. In high school, Hope was honored to serve as a student page for the Georgia House of Representatives, under  Representative Wendell Willard and and Representative Joe Wilkinson. Hope is looking forward to her internship this summer with U.S Senator Johnny Isakson in his Atlanta office. After she graduates from the University of Georgia, Hope plans on pursuing a law degree and eventually practicing Education Law.
