Holt is a third-year student from Atlanta, Georgia, majoring in political science with a minor in environmental economics. Holt has loved the outdoors since he was young and has taken many backpacking trips across Georgia and the rest of the country. He recognizes the threat climate change imposes on our world and knows the most effective way to combat those issues is through environmental protection policy. Eager to learn about policymaking, Holt interned with the Ways and Means Committee in the House of Representatives where he worked directly with lawmakers and experienced first-hand the legislative process. Holt wants to do more on campus to raise awareness for specific environmental issues and is planning to work on a political campaign this fall. He also studied abroad at Oxford University in England this past summer. Holt plans to attend law school after graduation but hopes to one-day lobby on behalf of environmental protection interest groups, or work for the Environmental Protection Agency.
