Master of Public Administration (MPA)

Haley has been studying at the University of Georgia since August of 2017 and throughout her undergraduate career has earned a Bachelor’s of Arts in Political Science, along with minors in Women’s Studies and Spanish. During her time at UGA as an undergraduate student, Haley was part of the Executive Cabinet of the 31st Student Government Association, was named as one of 100 top student assistants on campus, and was on the executive board of the organization called “In The Fight” on campus. She also had the opportunity to study Spanish abroad in Valencia, Spain in the summer leading up to her senior year. She finished out her undergraduate studies with an honors designation of Magna Cum Laude. She first entered the MPA program through the Double Dawgs program in which she took graduate-level courses as an undergraduate student. When she graduates she will have earned her Bachelor’s of Arts in Political Science and Master’s of Public Administration with a policy concentration in five years at UGA. Upon graduation she plans to start her career in Public Policy or Legislative Affairs.

Educational Experiences

Haley completed courses in the field of Political Science which helped her to become a better writer and conduct research. She also mastered the skill of conveying the findings of her research to support a specific argument. Her courses in Women’s Studies helped her gain an awareness and understanding of the struggles felt by marginalized people. It was in these courses in which she became passionate about making a difference and being a voice for marginalized people and educating others. Her courses in Spanish helped her grasp the language and become more in touch with her own Latin American heritage and culture.

Career Goals

Her career goals include working for an organization she is passionate about whether it be in the public or private sector. She wants to represent the public sector either by working in it or as a Government Relations or Legislative Affairs Consultant.
