Evan Statile is a first-year International Affairs Masters student from Chapel Hill, North Carolina. He is interested in US foreign policy towards Latin America, especially regarding human and physical security.

Evan is from Chapel Hill, North Carolina. He received a BA in Political Science, with a second major in Peace, War, and Defense from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2020. While at UNC Evan made the Dean’s List 6 of his 8 semesters and was heavily involved in European Horizons, an US-EU issues thinktank, and model United Nations. Currently he is pursuing a Masters in Interational Affairs from UGA. In his free time Evan enjoys playing and watching soccer, as well as hiking and climbing.

Research Interests

Evan’s research interests cover the geographic area of Latin America with regards to domestic security concerns and voting behaviors. He is interested in how US foreign policy towards Latin America is tailored to address these concerns and affect political behavior of key actors in the region.
