Master of Public Administration (MPA)

Emmanuel Idan is a trained journalist, a public relations practitioner, and a preacher. After two years of practice, he took a break from journalism and dived into Public Relations practice, and the ministry of empowering people, especially young people with the requisite knowledge to lead a balanced and enriched life. His area of professional expertise includes corporate communications, media relations, social campaigns, and events management. He started out as a middle school teacher in one of Ghana’s best private schools, teaching Social Studies for nine years. After Graduating from Harvard College in Ghana, and while teaching, he enrolled for an Associate Degree in Ghana’s premier journalism school-Ghana Institute of Journalism, graduating as the best student in Broadcast Journalism. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies, with a major in Public Relations from the same Institute. He is a student at the Global University’s Berean School of the Bible in Missouri, USA. He has been working with several churches, para -church groups and nonprofits in Ghana including Positive Mindset International, where he served for 3 years as the Director of Communications, designing strategic communication plan for advocacy for positive attitudes, and behavioral and social change. Emmanuel also served as the Public Relations Officer for Peace Chapel International, a thriving pentecostal church in the city of Accra, Ghana. In 2014, when he was assigned to lead the Dansoman branch of Peace Chapel International. For more than 15 years, Emmanuel has been involved in a ministry to young people, working with, and empowering them to discover their true purpose in life. He was the National Director of the Youth Ministry of Peace Chapel International, with Headquarters in Accra, Ghana, until he relocated to the USA. Emmanuel Idan is the author of Winning Through Information-You Are Worth What You Read. He is the host of Christianity Today, a weekly Christian program streamed live on Facebook. He also speaks at life enrichment seminars and conferences and serves as an auxiliary minister with the Jesus Power Assembly of God in Atlanta, Georgia.

Career Goals:

With over 12 years of professional experience spanning three areas: nonprofits, media, and education, Emmanuel’s career goal is to transition into an international nonprofit or a large government department at a management level in the next five years. He knows this would provide new challenges and opportunities and bring out the best in him. He has excelled in most roles with private organizations and believe that working in a large public organization will develop in him more corporate experience. Pursuing a career in academia is an aspiration Emmanuel has been nurturing since his senior year in college. Acquiring an MPA degree will galvanize him towards achieving that goal. Switching into academia after acquiring a doctoral degree is his ultimate career goal. In the next 12 years Emmanuel envisages his self as an academician in a higher institute of learning, in addition to running a consultancy firm in organization management.
