DeRenne Raley

Master of Public Administration (MPA)

DeRenne Raley is a graduate student at the University of Georgia’s School of Public and International Affairs. She is in the Master’s of Public Administration program focusing on non-profit management. As a Double Dawg, DeRenne attended the University of Georgia and received a bachelor’s degree in International Affairs as well as Political Science. During her undergraduate years, she was very involved on campus and was an active member of the Athens and UGA communities. Her experience serving on the UGA Miracle executive board inspired her to pursue a career in the nonprofit sector. DeRenne also served as a representative of the School of Public and International Affairs as a student ambassador. Upon graduating the University of Georgia in May 2019, DeRenne spent the summer in Atlanta as an intern at The Carter Center. She learned a lot and is excited to continue her studies in the MPA program.

Education

DeRenne had the opportunity to study abroad through the UGA à Paris program for six weeks before her junior year at the University of Georgia. She earned six credit hours in upper-level international affairs electives, and was immersed in French culture. DeRenne also received her experiential learning credits through her time on the Executive Board of UGA Miracle, the largest student-led organization at the university.

More About

Once finished earning her MPA, DeRenne hopes to pursue a career in the nonprofit sector. Her interests include global health, access to education, sustainability, empowering women and girls, and human rights. She is also open to a career in the consulting sector or working for a business in the area of corporate social responsibility. DeRenne is an enthusiastic lifelong student and hopes to find a career that challenges her and allows her to be creative.

DeRenne was an intern at The Carter Center and worked under the Chief Development Officer. She was mainly focused on writing proposals for securing funding for The Carter Center’s health programs.
