Master of Public Administration (MPA)

Chris is the Director of External Affairs for the Georgia Student Finance Commission (GSFC), the state agency that administers more than 20 state- and lottery- funded scholarship, grant and service-cancelable loan programs. In this role, Chris serves as the primary liaison to federal and state legislators, leaders of the executive branch, other state agencies and strategic partners across the state. He is responsible for strengthening and building positive relationships to advance GSFC’s mission to promote and increase access to education beyond high school for Georgians.

Before joining GSFC, Chris served as Deputy Policy Director and Special Assistant to Georgia Agriculture Commissioner Gary W. Black. A native of Athens, Georgia, Chris graduated from the University of Georgia with a bachelor’s degree in history in 2012. An Atlanta resident since 2013, he is an active member of Buckhead Church and enjoys volunteering as a youth mentor in Atlanta Public Schools. Chris also serves on the Board of Advisors for the Zell Miller Foundation and as a community representative on the Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning’s Early Head Start Policy Council.
