Charlene Marsh is a third year student from Norcross, Georgia, studying International Affairs and Sociology with a minor in French. She also plans on pursuing a Master’s in Public Administration through the Double Dawgs program, along with her Public Affairs Professional Certificate. Charlene has interests in issue advocacy and social justice, and is specifically passionate about racial and gender equality. Here in Athens, she has been involved with Model African Union, Athens for Everyone (an organization geared toward fighting for economic and social justice), The Arch Society, and the Student Government Association (as a director of Equality and Inclusion). She hopes to combine her love for serving marginalized populations with her education through pursuing career in the Foreign Service (specifically working on gender-based inequalities in the global education system). While on her recent trip to Verona, Italy to study global issues reinforced her desire to work and live abroad, she is also interested in pursuing a career in urban policy right here in the United States.
