Ben Lanier

Master of Public Administration (MPA)

Ben is an alumnus of The University of Georgia. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the School of Public and International Affairs.


Ben’s involvement at the university sparked his interest in public service. Ben was heavily involved in service leadership, volunteer work, mentorship, and internships. Ben was the director of Student Government Association’s arm of service leadership during his time as an undergrad.


Ben served as an instructor in Communities In Schools of Laurens County. He developed a technology program familiarizing and teaching vital computer skills to students k-8 as part of a federal grant. He served as a mentor, counselor, and guide to over 80 students.


In the summer of 2015, Ben was chosen as 1 of 6 males to represent the University as an Orientation Leader. During his time with orientation, Ben played a major role in the official beginning to UGA class of 2019’s college career. He helped welcome over 20,000 students and family members to campus, as well as supported students through advising and registration.


In Undergrad, Ben helped found and now co-owns a premium local solid waste company in Bluffton, South Carolina. His company offers some of the most affordable prices for solid waste management in the Bluffton, Beaufort, Hilton Head, and Savannah areas.


Ben is currently employed with The University of Georgia’s Office of Undergraduate Admissions. He serves the office by managing a recruitment territory in Central/Southeast Georgia, Arizona, and Nevada by traveling to high schools and two-year colleges to meet with counselors, parents, and prospective UGA students, coordinating alumni-admission functions, attending college fairs, and maintaining regular contact with prospects, applicants and counselors.
