Applied Politics

Alexis Parker is a rising junior pursuing degrees in both Political Science and International Affairs. She is from Raleigh, North Carolina. While living in the capital of North Carolina, Alexis developed a passion for politics as she held leadership roles in student government throughout high school. She broadened her knowledge base of the political arena and the law when she was given the opportunity to intern for the Honorable Chris Dillon at the North Carolina Court of Appeals. During her second year at the University of Georgia, Alexis sought out internship opportunities in the political sphere in the Athens area. She is currently learning and growing while serving as the intern to the Mayor of Winterville, Georgia. Considering her interest in dissecting intellectual arguments, Alexis plans to attend law school after completing her undergraduate studies so that she can become a voice for her generation. She is excited to further her understanding of politics by applying what she has learned through her experiences thus far to the Public Affairs Professional Certificate in Applied Politics.
