More About

Originally from Gainesville, Georgia, Alec became aware of the world’s interconnected nature as a child who played on soccer teams with the children of Latin American immigrants. His experiences sparked his fledgling interest in international affairs, and the summer before Alec began his undergraduate career, he happened to travel to England in June 2016 on the week of the Brexit vote. The scenes he witnessed confirmed for him that he had a passion for studying international affairs. Since then, he has graduated from the University of Georgia with B.A. degrees in both International Affairs and Spanish. Alec studied abroad twice at the University of Oxford (once through the SPIA at Oxford program) and once at the University of Valencia, at each step also studying both international affairs and Spanish language and culture. Alec also spent the summer of 2019 interning for a prominent non-profit organization that dedicates itself to fighting hate groups in the United States.
