Applied Politics

Alexa Powell is a second-year student at The University of Georgia pursuing a degree in Political Science. Since a young age, she has been interested in politics and the law. Throughout high school she participated on the debate team, opening her eyes to different world views and opinions than those she held. Following her work on the debate team, she shadowed a judge during her senior year providing her with a closer look at the justice system and how individuals interact with the justice system. With the Public Affairs Professional Certificate in Applied Politics, she hopes to gain a better understanding of politics and find a concentration that she is interested in pursuing in law school.
