Alex Ramsey

Master of Public Administration (MPA)

Originally from Los Angeles, I spent two years on an athletic scholarship at Sonoma State University. From there, I returned to Southern California where I did an interim semester at Pasadena City College before ultimately finishing my Bachelor’s Degree in Economics at Cal State University – Northridge. Through my background as a student athlete and my attendance of multiple institutions of higher education, I understand how important it is to give people the access to opportunities to pursue whatever passion and goal they may have. I hope to use this insight throughout my MPA program to achieve the goal of drafting labor policy to help disadvantaged communities and low-skilled workers succeed in the local and global economies.

Bachelor of Arts | Cal State University – Northridge | 2017 | Economics

Research Interests

My main research interest deals in labor policy with respect to wages and employment of low-skilled workers. Similarly, having been unionized under a public sector employee union, I have a great appreciation and passion for employee rights in the workplace.
