Master of Public Administration (MPA)

Adi’a Smith currently works as an Inclusion Fellow Intern for the Athens-Clarke County Unified Government. This internship will allow Adi’a to fully engage with the local community. During which time she will be working to help determine how diversity, equity, and inclusion is represented within Athens-Clarke County. Through education and experience her aim is to be in a position that will enable her to truly engage in community success initiatives and overall wellbeing. Which will then allow for positive changes by challenging current power dynamics. Adi’a uses her enthusiastic personality and positive attitude to encourage others around her to work hard and achieve success.

Educational Experiences

In spring of 2020, I successfully completed my Bachelor’s of Arts in Applied Anthropology. Currently, I am a dual degree Master’s student at the University of Georgia. I am expected to complete my Master of Urban Planning and Design and Public Administration and Policy degree in May of 2023.

Career Goals

I aim to work in the public sector focusing on community engagement and community lead planning initiatives. I hope to be in a position that allows me to represent and serve marginalized and underserved communities. My goal is to ensure families can keep their homes for future generations.


Relevant Work Experience

I currently am working for Athens-Clarke County assisting community engagement initiatives. For the previous 5 months I worked as an office Administrator for the Housing Assignments office at the University of Georgia. During that time I worked with community engagement and housing policy.
