Relevant Work Experience

My professional experiences include working with the World Bank, an international development organization operating in over 150 countries with its headquarters in Washington D.C. Prior to joining the World Bank, I worked with the Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG), Africa’s foremost Think-Tank redefining evidence-based policy advocacy as a Senior Policy Associate, and at the Development Alternatives (DAI), an international development company, working in multiple countries on the frontlines of development. I started my career at a regional development agency – Development Agenda for Western Nigeria (DAWN) Commission where until my last employment in 2018, I was the Team Lead, Economic Competitiveness.

Career Goals

My career goal is to further advance my research and teaching agendas by conducting applied research in state and local public finance policy and budgeting reforms and how these policies intersect with local economic development strategies.

Research Interests
+

I am interested in issues related to how intergovernmental fiscal arrangements and policies (federal aids, grants, transfers, mandates, regulations, etc.) influence state and local budgetary institutions and their capacity to mobilize and manage public financial resources for improved developmental outcomes. My research projects will support state and local governments with evidence that will inform their public finance decisions and the design of their budgetary institutions.
