Richard is a Master of Public Administration student in his final semester. He received his bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from UGA in 2024. During his undergraduate career, Richard became very excited about what the MPA program had to offer, and began taking classes as a part of the Double Dawgs program! He’s considered himself completely dedicated to public service ever since.
During his time in the MPA program, Richard served as the vice president of the UGA chapter of the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA), where he got to deepen his appreciation for public and non-profit finance. Outside of class, you can find Richard doing a variety of volunteering activities. He’s most proud of his work at Athens Prison Tutorial (APT), a student organization that provides GED tutoring services to incarcerated citizens. After graduating in December, Richard hopes to use his passion for corrections and law enforcement to build himself a career in public safety. He hopes that he’s able to have a career that selflessly serves the lives of others and inspires confidence in government.
