Jamie Dove, a first-year MPA student specializing in local government, was recently awarded the GACMA scholarship. The Georgia County Manager’s Association gives this scholarship to two MPA students enrolled in a University System of Georgia school who are seeking out careers as City Managers or Administrators. The organization’s mission is “to support the role of County Manager/Administrator form of leadership through professional development, communication, and education of its members.” For this scholarship, they seek out MPA students who have previous successes in both education as well as through participation in their communities outside of the classroom. The Department nominated Jamie for this award based on her experience working with the Carl Vinson Institute of Government and her career goal of becoming a city manager. Congratulations, Jamie!
