June 2026 MPA Student of the Month: Comfort M. Aiyepada

Comfort M. Aiyepada is a recent graduate of the Master of Public Administration (MPA) program at the University of Georgia, with a specialization in Public Management and Public Policy. Born and raised in Lagos and originally from Kogi State, Nigeria, she earned her bachelor’s degree in Public Administration from Obafemi Awolowo University, where she built a strong foundation in public service and governance. Her academic and professional journey reflects a deep interest in how public institutions can be better managed to serve communities more responsibly and effectively.

Her experience spans research, local government, administrative support, and public service. As a Graduate Research Assistant in the Governmental Training, Education, and Development (GTED) Division at the Carl Vinson Institute of Government, she supports leadership development, certification programs, and training initiatives for local government officials across Georgia. In this role, she has also supported work connected to professional associations such as the Georgia Recreation and Park Association (GRPA), the Georgia City-County Management Association (GCCMA), and the Georgia Municipal Association (GMA). Through her internship with the Stephens County Board of Commissioners in Toccoa as a Ralston Scholar, she gained direct experience in human resources, policy development, and elections administration. Across these roles, she has developed skills in research, policy processes, and program support.

Comfort’s leadership and community involvement are reflected in her service as the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Officer for Georgia Students for Public Administration (GSPA), her completion of 100 hours of service during her time in the MPA program, and her completion of the Carl Vinson Institute of Government’s Professional Development Program in Fall 2024. Her dedication to excellence is also evident in distinctions including the National Forum for Black Public Administrators (NFBPA) AFLAC Scholarship, the UGA MPA Graduate Student Scholarship, and her induction into the Pi Alpha Alpha Honor Society.

Comfort is especially interested in public management and the role of research in improving decision-making. She is drawn to work that helps bridge the gap between knowledge and practice, particularly through leadership support, training, and thoughtful consultation for public leaders. Her long-term goal is to contribute to stronger public institutions through research and applied work that generates practical recommendations for governments and organizations.
