Congratulations to Sara Del Valle for being selected as Public Administration and Policy’s MPA Student of the Month!

Sara is a second-year student in the MPA program and will graduate this Spring. She currently works as a graduate research assistant to help with the MPA Program NASPAA Accreditation process, and she is the president of the International City County Management Association (ICMA) Student Chapter at UGA. Sara is passionate about community engagement and development, social justice, and solution-oriented decision making; she aspires to work in local government in the future and hopes to one day become a city manager. This past summer, she worked as a remote intern for the Urban Area Security Initiative within Atlanta Regional Commission, helping the Atlanta region to prepare to meet the needs of its community in the case of a tragic event such as a terrorist attack or natural disaster. Prior to attending UGA, Sara graduated from the University of Delaware in 2019 with a dual degree in Management and Women and Gender Studies and minors in Spanish and International Business. During her undergraduate career, she worked in several internships, including with the non-profit Leadership Pikes Peak, the City of Colorado Springs Department of Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Services, and the Office of Delaware Governor John Carney. In her free time, Sara can be found hiking with her service dog and participating in local service opportunities.

Congratulations again Sara. Keep up the good work; you are a wonderful example to our other MPA students!
