International Education Month: PADP Celebrates MPA Student Nipuna Ambanpola

As part of International Education Month, Public Administration and Policy is celebrating some of our outstanding international students. Meet Nipuna Ambanpola.

Nipuna is a second year Masters of Public Administration student from Sri Lanka. He earned his Bachelors in Economics from Georgia Southern University in 2019. Nipuna is interested in tech-for-good, entrepreneurship, and innovation in the social impact sector. In pursuit of this calling, Nipuna found IVolunteer International, a tech-nonprofit in the U.S with the aim to make volunteering fun, easy, and equitable through technology. Nipuna is an avid volunteer himself, volunteering in the community through Rotary, Rotaract, Blue Key Honor Society, Society of Entrepreneurs, and Young Nonprofit Professionals Network to name a few. Nipuna is a Paul Harris Fellow, a Will Watt Fellow, and was recently awarded the Tucker Dorsey Memorial Award by the Blue Key Honor Society in recognition of his public service. Nipuna works at the J.W. Fanning Institute for Leadership Development as a Graduate Assistant and also serves on the United Nations Department for Global Communications Youth Steering Committee.
