Billqeece is in her second year of the MPA program hoping, if all goes well, she will graduate this May. She has been with the University of Georgia (UGA) for a while now. In her undergraduate program, she majored in Social Work and received her Bachelor’s degree, and in one year completed her Master’s degree in Social Work in the Advanced Standing Program.

Not completely sure of where she wanted to go right after graduation, she researched the Public Administration Program at UGA. Committing to public service was an easy pathway choice for her, so she decided to get a second Master’s degree. Both Social Work and Public Administration help people, so she hopes to combine her experiences to do something meaningful wherever she goes in her career.

Billqeece’s experience with a non-profit domestic violence shelter for two years includes case management, rapid-rehousing, grant writing, and other duties not assigned. She has seen what a significant impact non-profits make in the community every day and loves the small, tangible changes. In her time of being a Public Administration student, she has leaned more towards working in local government in her career path, in which she also enjoys seeing local government make those small community changes in an impactful way. Her current involvement at UGA includes serving as the Communications Chair at the student chapter of the International City/County Management Association (ICMA).

Outside of the MPA Program, Billqeece likes to write stories and screenplays. Sometimes she will even pick up a book on her shelf of many unread books.

Congratulations Billqeece! You are doing a great job and will be well equipped to make your own positive impact on society!
