A primary focus of our Ph.D. program is to prepare students to become independent, rigorous scholars who pursue and publish distinctive research in a variety of areas. While some of our doctoral students pursue satisfying careers outside academia, our alumni who choose to seek academic employment have outstanding records of research and publication, teaching, and professional experience. Recent graduates have obtained tenure-track positions at institutions such as University of Idaho, Auburn University, Texas Tech University, and the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva, Switzerland.
