Congratulations to Taylor Worley for being selected as Public Administration and Policy’s MPA December Student of the Month!
Taylor Worley (AB ’05, MPA ’21) has been a full-time UGA employee and part-time graduate student since 2018. On December 17th he will receive his MPA with specializations in Public Budgeting & Finance and Local Government.
Taylor currently serves as a Research Professional with Terry College of Business’ Selig Center for Economic Growth. He is teaching himself Tableau – a data visualization software – and enjoys incorporating this new skill into his work researching aspects of Georgia’s economy. You may view an example of his interactive Tableau data visualizations here.
Prior to returning to UGA for his master’s, Taylor worked in eco-tourism for seven years, living on a Georgia barrier island accessible only by boat. For fun, he caught sharks, wrangled rattlesnakes and swam with alligators. He has taught English in Brazil and worked in a dozen cities across the U.S. as a consultant in the multi-family housing industry.
Taylor is a daily bicycle commuter and recently joined the Athens in Motion Policy and Projects Committee. He has served on University Staff Council and as Chair of Terry College Staff Representative Group. He earned a certificate in Diversity & Inclusion from UGA and is a member of both the UGA Community Emergency Response Team and Government Finance Officers Association.
After graduation Taylor looks forward to spending more time exploring the outdoors with his wife Lauren and dog Lundi. Eventually he would like to help governments operate more effectively in a role as a state budget analyst or consultant.
Taylor is an exceptional student and we look forward seeing what new and great things he accomplishes after he graduates this fall.
