CITS conducts nuclear security culture training in Morocco

CITS hosted a training workshop for over 20 academics and nuclear regulators and operators from Algeria, Brazil, Jordan, Morocco, Nigeria, and South Africa on Nuclear Security Culture: Achieving Effectiveness and Sustainability in Morocco, Rabat between January 25-27, 2016. The workshop was co-hosted by CITS and the University of Ibn Tofail (Morocco), and was funded by the United States Department of State’s Partnership for Nuclear Security (PNS).

The workshop provided training on three distinct themes of nuclear security: (1) the concept and importance of nuclear security and nuclear security culture, (2) the IAEA methodology on nuclear security culture, and (3) nuclear security culture enhancement and sustainability. Through this workshop, participants developed expertise and skills on nuclear security culture, including the ability to conduct self-assessments and draft follow-up action plans. The workshop was conducted in English.
