Most Memorable SPIA Class Moment?

My most memorable SPIA class moment was in Dr. Bullock’s Southern Politics class. We were reviewing each Southern state’s political history and it was finally time to discuss Georgia’s. Dr. Bullock gave a great lecture complete with Herman Talmadge impersonations and red suspenders. It was a lecture everyone enjoyed and really brought Herman Talmadge to life.

My Top Three Career Tips
  1. Don’t be afraid to try something new. In every job you will always learn something about yourself.
  2. With every task you are given, always complete it in the best way you can. You never know who is watching and what they will think.
  3. Make sure you maintain relationships with former employers and professors. Individuals in this field are very interconnected and it will benefit you to keep up with them.
Favorite Athens Haunt & Getaway

My absolute favorite place is Athens is Taqueria Del Sol. My three best friends and I discovered it at the end of freshman year and immediately thought how had we survived without it. Not only does Taqueria Del Sol have the best cheese dip and fried chicken tacos you will ever eat, but it was always a great place to get together. Our senior year no Thursday was complete without a trip to Taqueria and all the laughs those trips entailed.

Named to the State Social Studies Advisory Board

I really could not have asked for more than what I was afforded as a SPIA student. The professors were interesting, challenging, and very interested in every student’s academic success. I always wished I could have had more POD classes because I always enjoyed my political science classes.
