Stan Jackson

Master of Public Administration (MPA)

As the director of student affairs communications and marketing initiatives, Stan leads and executes a comprehensive marketing and communications strategy for the Division of Student Affairs. He oversees the design, production and implementation of branding, advertising, marketing and public relations initiatives for the division. He is a member of the vice president’s office staff and serves on the leadership team for the division. In addition, he provides staff support for various initiatives and division-wide projects.

Stan’s professional background includes more than 10 years in higher education communications, including serving on the staffs of the UGA Alumni Association, UGA’s Department of Financial Services, the UGA Griffin Campus, the Oconee County Chamber of Commerce, Inlingua International and the Verona International Program. His expertise is building efficient processes for team-driven communications, with a particular focus on training and encouraging programming staff and faculty in communications and marketing best-practices. Stan also has a successful record of establishing and growing social media initiatives and designing functional, intuitive digital media, but he staunchly upholds personal, face-to-face communication as the most effective tool for promoting programs.

Stan currently serves on the 1919 Society of the Athens Regional Health System, and he has previously served on the boards of Hands On Northeast Georgia and the Georgia Children’s Chorus. He is a graduate of the Oconee County Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Oconee program. He is also an active member of Athens First United Methodist Church.

Stan holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Georgia. He and his wife, Angel, live in Watkinsville with their son, Conner, and daughter, Laura Claire. He has been a member of the Student Affairs team since December 2013.
