Master of Public Administration (MPA)
Ricky Kirby is originally from the small town of Dyersburg, Tennessee, where he graduated from Dyersburg High School. While in Dyersburg he was very involved in many church and civic organizations both locally and nationally. He served on the Ministry Council of the Cumberland Presbyterian denomination for two years and served on the planning team of multiple youth ministry programs, including the Presbyterian Youth Triennium. He moved to Memphis, Tennessee after graduating high school to begin earning his degree in Finance from the University of Memphis. At the University of Memphis he was an Emerging Leader Scholarship recipient, two-term President of the Student Government Association, recruitment and alumni ambassador, President of his fraternity, and much more. He received the Eye of the Tiger Award for his commitment to athletics in 2013 and received the highest recognition a student leader on campus can obtain when he graduated, acceptance into the Carson Circle. He also completed an internship at Chartwell Financial Group, a Memphis based financial advising firm; as well as with the Memphis Mayoral Transition Team following the 2015 election. He is currently working towards obtaining his master’s degree in Public Administration with a focus in higher education administration from the University of Georgia. He also works in University Housing as a Graduate Resident in Brumby Hall.
