Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Public Administration
Educated in Belarus, U.K and the U.S., Mikhail wishes to attain a Ph.D. in Public Administration and Policy at SPIA, University of Georgia.
After graduation from high school at the Lyceum #1 in Brest, Belarus, Mikhail gained acceptance to the Public Administration and Law program at the Academy of Public Administration under the Aegis of the President of the Republic of Belarus, which trains all senior Belarusian civil servants. During his studies from 2002 to 2007, he enjoyed several internships. In the summer of 2005, he worked for the District Executive Committee for Brest, a city in Belarus. Summer 2006 brought Mikhail experience working in the Regional Prosecutors’ Office in Brest, whilst the spring of 2007 provided an opportunity working with Justices in the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Belarus. After graduating with his Public Administration and Law bachelor’s degree, Mikhail proceeded to the United Kingdom where he studied English from 2007 to 2009. In 2010, he returned to Belarus to prepare for the competitive comprehensive examination for entrance to graduate study in law at the Belarusian State University. He was admitted to International Affairs in the Fall of 2010 and graduated LL.M. in 2011 after preparing a graduate thesis entitled “Legal Aspects of UN Peacekeeping operations”.
Mikhail gained acceptance and obtained a research assistantship in the School of Law, University of Georgia and graduated LL.M. in 2012 studying American and International Law. The following year Mikhail gained further experience as a research assistant at IDM in the College of Public Health at the University of Georgia where he helped prepare research materials and taught several graduate laboratories.
Mikhail is currently enrolled in the Public Administration and Policy doctoral program at the University of Georgia. His research interests lie in public finance and budgeting.
