Kate Templeton officially started saying “Go Dawgs” in December of 2014 when she began working in the UGA Career Center. She is a graduate of Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Middle Grades Education. After working for several years as a public school teacher and an administrator and intern with a nonprofit, Kate returned to school and earned her Master of Science in Counseling from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

    As a counselor trained in college student development in higher education, Kate is enthusiastic about working with students to foster career development and identity awareness. She has experience working with a diverse student population in student affairs offices and a university counseling clinic. As a result of these experiences, Kate is skilled at building rapport with students and addressing a variety of concerns including career exploration, value identification, and academic challenges in one-on-one and group formats. With a background in counseling and teaching, she is proficient in fostering personal growth through individual appointments, as well as developing and presenting educational information to small-groups and classes.

    Kate is also a Certified Federal Career Coach, dedicated to engaging students and the university community in the many opportunities available in the federal government. She is enjoying the opportunity to connect with employers and educate students in all majors on the merits of experiential education.
