Serving I Live: Blue Key Awards
On Friday, October 11, I attended the Blue Key Awards Banquet as a guest of McKenna Long and Aldridge, with McKenna Partner and UGA Board of Visitors Member Randy Nuckolls (himself a past Blue Key Young Alumnus Award Recipient) and his wife Suzanne. Blue Key is an Honor Society that “recognizes junior and senior men and women of outstanding character and ability who have achieved distinction for scholarship and recognition for service and leadership.” Its motto is inspiring: “Serving I Live.”
It was a proud night for SPIA. First, International Affairs major Jacqueline Van de Velde was awarded the Tucker Dorsey Memorial Scholarship. Congratulations to Jacqueline! In addition, fourteen SPIA majors were initiated into the Honor Society. They include: William M. Burgess (Political Science), Maura S. Friedman (Political Science), Leah A. Gerstley (Criminal Justice), Tucker R. Green (International Affairs), Mary Grace Griffin (Political Science), Sarah M. Hughes (International Affairs), Cody T. Knapp (International Affairs), Anna C. Konieczny (MPA), Geoffrey Nolan (International Affairs), Jacqueline E. Van de Velde (International Affairs), Carlisle H. Vason (International Affairs), William M. Villalta (Criminal Justice), Shannon N. Vreeland (International Affairs), and Whitney M. Wyszynski (Political Science).
We congratulate all our SPIA students on this outstanding achievement.
