CITS has been engaged in India for over a decade, conducting export control related workshops and training programs, particularly for the hi-tech industry. The latest program was conducted on March 15th, in New Delhi, in conjunction with CITS’ long-standing partner, FICCI (Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry) – India’s largest and oldest industry association – and with support from key agencies of the Government of India. The workshop focus was on aerospace and munitions sectors, both witnessing dynamic growth of domestic companies and enhanced international engagement. Workshop focus was also in line with New Delhi’s on-going effort to harmonize its national control list with the Dual-Use and Munitions Lists of the Wassenaar Arrangement, and its related objective of seeking membership in this regime. Attended by a large number of domestic companies and Indian subsidiaries of foreign companies, the event featured speakers from the governments of India, United States and Japan, and several domain experts from the corporate sector.
