Most Memorable SPIA Class Moment?

My teammates and I negotiated a peace agreement among about 10 nations, including several belligerents, as Finland during the interwar period in Dr. Berejikian’s Gaming and Governance course.

My Top Three Career Tips
My three tips would be:
  1. To go abroad! Give more substance to your understanding of how international relations affects individuals in other cultures and countries, and open your door to the many career opportunities that lay outside of Georgia and the United States.
  2. To work in areas that resonate with you, not necessarily the most prestigious areas.
  3. Finally, to take every chance to get feedback. Learn to value criticism as much as positive evaluation to help you grow.

Favorite Athens Haunt & Getaway

Walker’s. Between the high backs of those wooden booths are the best places to meet up for coffee, study all afternoon, and transition to Terrapin ale and great conversation later on. Plus, nothing beats the call to take a break from studying like the karaoke singers downstairs on a Thursday night.

On the rare occasion that I wanted to leave Athens I usually went into Atlanta to see friends and family. Camping and hiking up by Tallulah Gorge in fall was an amazing post-midterms escape, too.

Why Did You Choose SPIA?

For the first time in my academic career my professors invited me to challenge every theory they taught, to fearlessly evaluate weaknesses and strengths, and to develop my own opinions.
