Most Memorable SPIA Class Moment?

Analyzing mass media in relation to campaigns with Dr. Haynes was the perfect hands-on experience to learning the role it plays in politics. I’ve never looked at Al-Jazeera the same way.

My Top Three Career Tips

1. Make true friendships with your professors, because they will help propel you 2, 3, even 4 years after you have graduated. I have my current job thanks to Dr. Bullock. They also act as some of my closest mentors to this day.

2. Keep your friendships. The students in SPIA usually end up in similar, if not the same, fields and jobs. Not only do you want those familiar faces, but the networking opportunities are endless. You can be there for each other to help advance your careers.

3. Everybody starts at the bottom. SPIA is an excellent school and prepares you extremely well for the real world, but make sure to have a humble attitude wherever you start. You don’t know everything…yet, so learn from your peers and superiors – and the only way to go is up!

Favorite Athens Haunt & Getaway

The Starbucks on Broad is my favorite Athens spot! I was constantly there, outside on the patio, studying with a tall coffee and lemon pound cake. When it was nice out, you could people watch as students crossed back and forth (around) the arch and it has a perfect view of North Campus.
