Most Memorable SPIA Class Moment?

Story time with Dr. Bullock. If you haven’t taken his Southern Politics class, take it! By far that class and the many stories about Southern Political legends are some of my favorite SPIA class time memories.

My Top Three Career Tips
My first would be- intern, intern, intern…people remember when you give your all to a job for which you are not being paid. My second would be (and it sounds cliché)- dress for the job you want, not the one you have. First impressions absolutely matter. Lastly, get to know at least two of your professors well. They can pass on invaluable information. When you invest in people, they invest in you.
Volunteer Activities / Service on Boards

Haynes serves as Vice-Chair of the UGA School of Public and International Affairs’ Alumni Board of Directors, as well serves on the boards of the Georgia Commission for Service and Volunteerism the Georgia Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives.

Recent Honors / Awards

Haynes was named as one of Southwest Georgia’s 40 Under 40 and The University of Georgia’s 40 Under 40 in 2012.

A QUOTABLE QUOTE ABOUT MY SPIA EXPERIENCE

I absolutely loved SPIA. With smaller class sizes, I was able to get to know fellow SPIA students, who have become some of my best friends, and professors who continue to be mentors long after I left Athens.
