I am lucky that I can say that every class day is my favorite and most memorable SPIA moment! But of course, the best moments usually come when students tell you that what you did mattered to them in some way.

Haynes serves on the UGA Athletic Association Board.

Taste of India as it is my go to place to take students and graduate Teaching Assistants out to lunch for good food and conversation.
Recent Honors / Awards

Haynes has received several honors, the University’s top teaching recognition, the Joshiah Meigs Distinguished Teaching Professorship, as well as recognition in 2012 as one of the Princeton Review’s “Best 300 Professors” in the nation. She is a two-time recipient of the American Political Science Association’s Outstanding Teaching in Political Science Award. Her campus teaching awards include the SPIA Excellence in Teaching Award and a 2006 Russell Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching. She is a member of the UGA Teaching Academy, the Online Teaching Fellows Program, and is a Center for Teaching and Learning Senior Teaching Fellow.
