Associate Dean

Robert Grafstein is Associate Dean and professor of political science in the School of Public and International Affairs at the University of Georgia. He is coeditor with Fan Wen of A Bridge Too Far? Commonalities and Differences between China and the U.S. (Rowman & Littlefield), and the author of Institutional Realism (Yale), Choice-Free Rationality (Michigan), and numerous articles in leading scholarly journals. His research focuses on domestic and comparative political economy. He directs the Maymester in China Study Abroad Program. Grafstein began his career at the University of Georgia in 1976, and from 2002-2008, served as Head of the School’s Department of Political Science. He received his A.B. degree from the University of Pennsylvania, and M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Chicago.
